Luiz is a Managing Partner, focused on the Fund, and is based in São Paulo. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2010, Luiz was the founding partner of Tripod Investments, a private equity/venture capital firm specializing on environmental and social investments. Prior to Tripod, Luiz spent two years as a partner and director at Rio Bravo Investimentos, in charge of private equity and wealth management activities. Previously, he spent nine years and held various seniors positions with ABN AMRO Group, including Managing Director of ABN AMRO Bank, CEO of ABN AMRO Asset Management in Latin America and Executive Director of Banco Real. He also spent eight years at Banco Sul America, as well as eight years at Banco Mercantil de São Paulo. Since 2002, Luiz has been a Director for ANBIMA, coordinating its Private Equity Commission. Luiz is a Board Member of the Financial Planning Standards Board in the United States and a former Board Member of Bovespa’s ISE. Luiz holds a master’s in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Universidade Mackenzie in São Paulo.
