Judy has more than 20 years of global investment experiences in venture capital and private equity, including direct and fund investments as well as M&A activities.
Judy started investing in China in 2001 when she was with Hewlett Packard Global Ventures and later became the head of HP Asia Strategic Investment. In 2008, she founded YiMei Capital, a Shanghai-based investment platform specialized in the China market, with coverage in TMT, consumer, and healthcare sectors. Under Judy’s leadership, YiMei was among the first to establish USD/RMB dual-currency capabilities and has become one of the most stable and longest standing VCPE platforms in China.
Judy is also the co-founder and managing partner of NE Social Impact Fund (NE), a dedicated impact investing fund jointly established by YiMei and NPI, China’s largest non-profit incubator. Judy and her team are keen to assist public welfare programs and make a positive contribution to society. By investing in new business models and social enterprises, NE aims to provide capital and know-how to such enterprises while generating long-term investment returns which meet both social impact metrics as well as financial benchmarks.
Judy holds an MBA degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in International Economics from Peking University.
Judy also serves as a board member of Shanghai Charity Foundation and United Way China, as well as a board member of the Wharton Club of Shanghai.
