Søren Thinggaard Hansen

Søren Thinggaard Hansen has been working with asset management since 2000, Since December 2002 at Industriens Pensionsforsikring A/S (Industriens Pension). At Industriens Pension he has been responsible for shifting the private equity program from a small private equity program mainly relying on fund of funds to what is today a global program with commitments to more than 190 funds and commitments exceeding 4,5 billion USD – 400 million USD is current commitments to Emerging market funds. In Emerging markets Mr. Hansen serves on the LPACs of funds with Axxon (Brazil), China Consumer Capital (China), Helion Venture Partners (India), Horizon Capital (Ukraine), Keytone Ventures (China), KV Asia (SE Asia), Linzor Capital Partners as well as observer on Ascent India Fund III (India). In addition, Mr. Hansen was the second European to join the board of directors of ILPA – Institutional Limited Partners Association – He served two full terms from 2006-2010. Mr. Hansen holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Copenhagen Business School. Industriens Pension is a life insurance company that administrates the labor market pension for the employees under the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Industrial Employees in Denmark. Assets under management are, as of March 2018, approx. 27 billion USD with an annual inflow (net for investments) of approx. 1 billion USD a year. Industriens Pension’s long-term aim is to allocate 7,5% of its assets to private equity, resulting in annual commitments of $300-350 million to the asset class. The allocation for emerging markets is currently 10 % of annual commitments.
